Jaelyn is a brave, smart, energetic, caring 11year old. She was born with Werner’s Syndrome. As a result, she was missing the tibia in her left leg. She had several surgeries to try and save her “little leg”. When Jaelyn was 8, we made the decision to amputate her leg (through the knee). Looking back, I can honestly say that was the best decision we ever made. When Jaelyn woke up in recovery in July of 2017, it was as if the weight of the world had been lifted off her shoulders. Three months after the amputation, Jaelyn had her first leg made at POA. We love watching Jaelyn grow and try new things. Some of the things she enjoys include: being outside, swimming, arts and crafts, basketball, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for allowing Jaelyn to be a part of JTF.
