Ruby

Ruby is one of our original JTF Kids and became part of our organization back in 2010. She lives in Honduras and had a transtibial amputation after a childhood trauma, and now has a little boy of her own. While Ruby aged out of our program a few years ago, lack of access to proper care in Honduras meant she was still using a very old prosthesis. The JTF Board was able to approve Ruby as a One Time Young Adult Recipient so she can get a new prosthesis that will last her well into adulthood. After a delay with the pandemic and getting a travel visa, Ruby recently was able to travel back to the states with her son and got fitted for her new walking leg and water leg. We were so grateful to be able to help her and make sure she has what she needs to get around and take care of her little one!
