My name is Savannah and I’m eighteen years old. I enjoy walking and hiking outside, reading, music, working with children, traveling, and discovering new teas. I rock climbed for six years, and have competed in national and world events. I also volunteered with a local climbing organization to introduce other disabled children to rock climbing. I’m currently enrolling in my second year of college and looking to get a degree in early education. When I was born, I was diagnosed with neurofibromatosis (NF-1). At age three, I had to have my right leg amputated due to the bone refusing to heal after an early break. I’ve tried several styles of walking prostheses, none of which enabled me to run with ease, despite my efforts. I currently walk about five and half miles a day, and would love to be able to run as easily as I can walk.
